Accessibility to virtual access has prompted the gravitation towards digital learning in medicine. The development of tele-education webinars and conduction of didactics with online platforms has changed our continuing education (CE) programs and orthoptic fellowships. In this age of digital communication and virtual meetings and examinations it has become necessary to present and understand clinical research and educational training virtually in health care. Our webinar will focus on how speakers can present research material in an effective manner, how orthoptic programs are teaching via webinars or on-line learning platforms, how to organize lectures and scientific research for orthoptic fellows/other learners on a virtual platform, how to effectively present research and how to moderate/participate in a virtual presentation. We will have virtual video links to review Zoom controls online at orthoptics.org. You will find videos on how to transfer hosts, share a screen, use reactions, layouts, and using breakout rooms that will be helpful prior to the webinar session.

Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this webinar, the participant will be able to:

  1. Present material and scientific research in an effective manner to a virtual audience.
  2. Understand the functions of online platforms for webinars to present research and information.
  3. Know how to moderate and participate in an online platform.
  4. Know how to organize materials for online learning for fellows, residents, and other learners.

How to view a live or recorded session

  1. Register for the event
  2. Login to the AACO Online Learning Center
    1.  *Use the link above to be taken directly to the online learning center
  3. On the home screen, click on the course you wish to view
  4. In the table of contents, click on the session you wish to view
    1. *You must be logged in for the table of contents to appear on your page
  5. Click on the Zoom link for the live session, or the link for the recording 

 

How to collect your CE Certificate

  1. After you watch the session, move to the assessment section
  2. Complete the webinar evaluation form and a CE Certificate will be sent to your email on file
    1. CE Certificates can also be found in your account on the AACO Online Learning Center
    2. Click on "My Account" in the upper right-hand corner of the Online Learning Center and select "My Certificates"
