Why did the AACO purchase a new Learning Management System (LMS)?


We understand this transition to a brand-new system can be confusing and frustrating. Thank you for your patience and understanding. As the profession grows and we expand online learning for our members, we have upgraded our LMS. The new platform is more secure and user-friendly, and it provides a centralized space for academic learning and for certified orthoptists to maintain their certification through continuing education. With this platform, program directors, instructors, and presenters can share information, network, and learn from one another, driving ongoing improvement for all orthoptists and the profession..


Why is my LMS username different from my AACO website username?


The two websites use different systems. They are linked but not the same platform, so you will need two separate usernames and passwords to log in.


Which system do I use to register for CE and track my CE Credits?


Effective immediately, Brightspace (LMS) will be the exclusive platform for continuing education through the AACO. Registration for webinars and classes, collecting CE and tracking CE through the AACO will take place on Brightspace. An account is required to access these services; activities will not be available without login credentials.


Where do I register for the National Meeting?


Registration for the National Meeting can only be completed on Brightspace. If you have questions or issues accessing your National Meeting registration, please reach out to aaco@orthoptics.org for assistance.


I am a member and don't know my user name and password.


As a member of the AACO, your account has been created. Your username is FirstName.LastName. If you forgot your password, click the forgot password link on Brightspace for help. If you continue to have issues logging in, contact us at aaco@orthoptics.org. DO NOT CREATE YOUR OWN ACCOUNT.


I am a brand new member and not sure I have an account. Should I create my own?


No, your account is created by the AACO when you join as a new member. If you did not receive your login instructions, please reach out to aaco@orthoptics.org for assistance, please.


I am not an AACO member, do I have an account?


If you registered for a CE event with the AACO, then yes, you have one already. To confirm you have an account, enter in your username (FirstName.LastName) and click forgot password. If you don't have an account, you will be prompted to create one at checkout.
