ACCO Honor Certificate

The AACO Orthoptist Honor Certificate recognizes orthoptists who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the profession through leadership, education, clinical excellence, mentorship, research, advocacy, and service. This distinction honors individuals who advanced orthoptics and patient care while inspiring colleagues and future orthoptists.

Recipients of the Orthoptist Honor Certificate exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence. Through their impact on patients, students, fellow healthcare professionals, and the orthoptic community, they have helped shape the future of our profession.


The American Association of Certified Orthoptists is proud to recognize these outstanding individuals for their lasting contributions to orthoptics and pediatric ophthalmology.

Honor Certificate Requirements

The Honor Certificate recognizes Certified Orthoptists for professional achievement, teaching, leadership, and service to the field of orthoptics.


Nominees must earn a minimum of 20 points in each of the three categories below.


Experience requirements must be completed within a five-year period; professional contributions and leadership activities may be accumulated throughout the nominee's career.


Experience

Nominees must have at least five years of active employment as a Certified Orthoptist and attend three AACO National Meetings in person within a five-year period.


Professional Contributions

Nominees must demonstrate contributions to the field through publications, professional presentations, teaching, or clinical education. At least five points must be earned through publications or presentations.


Leadership and Service

Nominees must demonstrate leadership and service through AACO officer positions, regional representation, Executive Board service, or committee involvement.
